THE BRIEF:

Create and design a holiday getaway area that includes outdoor entertaining areas
Use native water wise plants to blend in with the surrounding bushland, whilst maintaining privacy and weather protection.

THE JOB:

This job was located in an area where access to water is limited to rain water. We therefore had to design a garden that not only blended in with the natural bush but also would not require large quantities of water to maintain. As it is a holiday residence, the focus was also on creating areas that serviced outdoor entertaining, so we included a wood fire pizza oven, a fire pit and a track leading to the nearby beach for easy access. The client also requested a feature frangipani around the upper pool area.

THE CHALLENGES:

We needed to incorporate the feature frangipani without it looking out of place in a strong native bush setting. To do this, we placed it on the upper pool area and then used some more exotic plants around this area so it blended seamlessly.
